∆ Upcoming Release "rush" ∆

Some days shift your direction without warning.

After a conversation with DeUnna Hendrix about music, healing, and building new systems for artists, she was curious about my creative process so we went back to my spot and started creating. We found a vocal asking, “why you always gotta be in such a rush?” and built the whole track around it in just a couple of hours.

Not long after, I spoke with Marilyn Pham about her commitment to releasing every month during my FREE GAME IG Live series. It made me question my own hesitation on releasing music on some consistent basis.

This is me choosing consistency and accepting imperfection.

This year, every track will release first on Subvert before going live on DSPs (Digital Service Providers aka Spotify, Apple Music, etc). It’s a collectively owned co-op music platform (think Bandcamp alternative) I joined as a founding member because I believe artists need real ownership and alternatives to the current streaming system. Make sure you check them out and get ready for some more music from me 🕺💜

“rush” release schedule:
03/01 — Subvert
04/01 — all platforms

RVA Mag Covers "Big Scouse"

If you didn't catch it, last week Dead Set FC released our first documentary "Big Scouse".

Our friend Anthony Harris over at RVA Mag published a reflection on Big Scouse, highlighting Penny Lane’s role as both a football sanctuary and an unofficial civic meeting ground near Richmonds Capitol. Hearing Anthony, who appears in the film, reflect on that shared sacred space reinforced why Dead Set FC exists—to document the stories defined by love, and honoring those who live it.

"Sundays After Church" Drops 03/02/26 on Apple TV

A couple of years ago I had the privilege of mixing and editing audio for a film called "TOXIC" by local RVA production company Cinnamon Brown Entertainment. My friend Miles had reached out to me a while ago to work with him on a few projects with director Ethan X Evans and writer Eric Brown. That movie ended up releasing on Amazon Prime and Tubi.

At the end of last year I finished mixing their first full length series called "Sundays After Church".

“Sundays After Church pulls back the veil on a church where the pursuit of power lurks beneath a righteous facade of God, family, and community. At the heart of it all is First Lady Sandra Clayton-kindhearted but naive-who slowly begins to uncover the institution’s hidden agenda. As faith collides with ambition, she and others must wrestle with difficult choices that test their beliefs, morals, and loyalties. In this gripping new series, saving souls sometimes demands darker measures be taken. Will they stand firm in their convictions, or be consumed by the very forces they seek to resist?”
- Cinnamon Brown Ent

This series is one of the best series I've seen come out of Richmond. From the writing, production, to the sound ;) Shoutout to the whole squad for bringing this amazing production to life and special shout out to the audio team Philip Anderson, Sebastian Duall, Jackson Luck, and Miles Hopkins. For full credits check out the IMDB page.

You can catch the movie on AppleTV March 02, 2026.

That's it for this week! If you've got this far, thank you for being here and enjoy the weekend <3

With love,
